Characteristics

The player has several characteristics that affect combat and can modify powers.
Strength (STR)
This affects how much damage the Strike power does. It also figures into your Physical Defense (PD), Recovery (REC), and Stun. Maybe one day I'll add the ability for you to push killing powers by using strength.
1 strength point costs 1 battle point.
Dexterity (DEX)
This affects Speed, Offensive Combat Value (OCV), Defensive Combat Value (DCV), and attack order.
1 dexterity point costs 3 battle points.
Constitution (CON)
This affects Energy Defense (ED), Recovery (REC), Endurance (END), and Stun.
1 constitution point costs 2 battle points.
Body
This is how much damage you can take before dying. When your body drops below 1, you are dying. While dying, you lose 1 point of Body every turn. Unless someone uses a power or item to increase your body above 0, you will eventually die. When your body drops as far below zero as its maximum, you are dead and are reconstituted in Limbo. (for example, if your maximum body is 15, then when you reach -16 body, you are dead). Body also figures into stun.
1 body point costs 2 battle points.
Physical Defense (PD)
Physical defense reduces damage inflicted by physical (not energy) enemy stunnning (not killing) attacks. Only damage in excess of the PD is actually applied to Body and Stun. (Example: Fred punches Barney and calculates 9 stun and 1 body. Barney's PD is 3, so he suffers 6 stun and no body).
1 physical defense point costs 1 battle point.
Resistant Physical Defense (RPD)
Resistant Physical Defense reduces damage inflicted by physical enemy killing attacks.
1 RPD costs 1/2 battle point.
Energy Defense (ED)
Energy Defense reduces damage inflicted by energy (not physical) enemy stunning attacks.
1 ED costs 1 battle point.
Resistant Energy Defense (RED)
Resistant Energy Defense reduces damage inflicted by energy enemy killing attacks.
1 RED costs 1/2 battle point.
Speed (SPD)
This determines how many attacks you can make in a turn.
1 Speed costs 1 battle point.
Recovery (REC)
This determines how quickly you recover Endurance and Stun.
1 Recovery point costs 2 battle points.
Endurance (END)
Endurance is consumed as you make attacks and use powers
1 Endurance point costs 1/2 battle point.
Stun
This is how much damage you can take before you become unconscious. When your stun drops below 1 point, you are unconscious and your DCV drops to zero. While your stun is between 0 and -10, you recover once per phase, adding your REC to both END and Stun. While your stun is between -11 and -20, you recover over the course of a turn, adding your REC to both END and Stun incrementally over the course of the turn. While your stun is below -20, you can not recover during combat, and until combat ends, or someone increases your Stun with a power or item, you are out of the combat.
1 Stun point costs 1 battle point.
